An epic 4 Day Expedition in the Great Wilderness of the Letterewe Estate and Fisherfield Forest area. One for Munroists and those wanting to challenge themselves in bagging some of Scotland’s most remote Munros.
This is a unique opportunity to join our 2021 Expedition…always to a different area each year. This Trek will be led by our Lead Guide, Simon. Although he has a good knowledge of the area, it is likely we will access some areas not often walked and there will parts of the route that we have not Trekked or wild camped in before.
We intend to base ourselves at Kinlochewe with an optional meet up on Thursday afternoon, the 27th of May, for an overnight commercial camp. We will book a group table at the Kinlochewe Hotel for Thursday night once we know numbers. For those wanting to meet up on Friday morning instead this can be arranged although we will be looking for an early start.
The route will be finalised nearer the day in relation to the prevailing weather and ground conditions. It may be linear or circular, with a start at Kinlochewe or Poolewe. Either way we will transport you to and from our start and end points. The route will focus on accessing the Munro summits of the Fisherfield 5.
The route does not include An Teallach to the North or the demoted Munro of Beinna’ Chaidheimh, which has been re measured to be under 3000 feet, but these might be an option depending in how the group progresses and the final route decided.
The Expedition cost includes all Trekking Gear, Guiding, 2 Wild Camps, Food and Drink for 4 Days, one Commercial Camp on the night of the 27th, free Transport to and from Kinlochewe on our journey from Tomintoul [or anywhere on route]. It does not include the price of an evening meal at the Kinlochewe Hotel.
This is definitely a Trek for experienced hill walkers and only open to previous clients. Days will be demanding, with distances travelled varying from 10 kms to 15 kms per day. Total distance over the 4 Days will be around 45 kms including around 2600 metres of ascent. Obviously a very good level of mountain fitness and stamina will be required for those intending to participate. The Expedition will take in a variety of environments ranging from easy paths to trackless mountain terrain, including boulder fields, mild scrambling and river crossings. Wild camps will be in very isolated and remote mountain locations.
We will have back up plans for inclement weather and impassable river crossings. However, please be aware that if conditions are really poor we will cancel. In the event of this you will get a full refund and a 10% reduction on any future Trek. Where possible we will also look to reschedule and give you first choice in signing up to any new dates. Please read carefully our Terms and Conditions for further information and before signing up for this Trek
