This 4 Day Trek is for those who want to experience the psychological and physical wellbeing that the remote beauty and wildness of the Cairngorm mountains and glens bring.  The sheer act of living, walking through and sleeping in the hills for 4 days and 3 nights, unplugged from every day distractions is life changing.

The Cairngorms is our home and we consider it to be a very special place. The only sub-arctic area of the UK, it is also home to a vast array of geological and biological interest. From its high rocky plateau and glacially carved corries, to its uniquely adapted wildlife and stunning alpine flora.

This trek will be four days long, but taken at a leisurely pace so we can fully share this astounding part of the world with you.

Our journey will start at the Cairngorm Mountain Ski area at the Coire Cas Car Park. Already at a height of 635 metres, from here on our route will rapidly enter deep into the mountains.

There’s a term we like to use here in Scotland, which is to “stravaig”, meaning to wander or roam, freely moving across the landscape however you feel.

While we will follow a rough route, there will be plenty of opportunity to stravaig, hopefully allowing plenty of time to take in all of the beauty this part of the world brings.

As part of the route, we will likely take the opportunity to summit the following Munros:

  • Braeriach
  • Angel’s Peak
  • Cairn Toul
  • The Devil’s Point
  • Carn A Mhaim
  • Ben Macdui
  • Derry Cairngorm
  • Bienn Mheadhoin
  • Cairn Gorm

During the trek your guide will point out the unique flora and fauna of the high mountains. In particular we will pass through habitats renown for mountain hares, ptarmigan, snow buntings, dotterel and free roaming reindeer. Also a multitude of alpine plants, including mosses, lichens and micro flowers.
